Remembering Steve Jobs
It was a sad day yesterday after learning of the passing of Apple co-founder and CEO, Steve Jobs. He was an extremely influential man and an extraordinary innovator, and I hope he will always be remembered by future generations for what he did to shape the computing era. Between work, school, reading, movie watching, researching, traveling, yoga, planning, blogging, communicating, social networking, photo sharing, and designing, I wouldn’t be functioning properly without my trusty Apple devices (iMac/MacBook, iPhone, iPad). My everyday life is highly impacted by the ease, dependability, and organization these products offer me. Thank you for everything, Steve.

Tech Gifts for Mom
My mum enjoys technology. Not as much as I do, or for the same reasons. She mostly likes it the most for pictures. That’s why when I stumbled across this Unplggd article, I laughed at the first gift idea:
a Tablet: The iPad is the best tech gift our mom has ever been given. The last time she was this engaged with technology was when introduced her to iPhoto on her new Mac. The iPad is a great fit for her because it does everything she would like to do, is easy to use and is highly portable.
It’s funny, because firstly, when I bought my Nikon DSLR, she promptly followed suit and got the same one. Soon after that she bought a MacBook (because that’s what I had), and when she discovered iPhoto she went crazy with joy and happiness. So now she takes a bazillion photos of Maine (they have land up there) and then puts them all into iPhoto and has about a few dozen folders to organize them all with. I’m pretty certain she’ll soon own an iPad as well. She’s already telling me she can’t wait to exchange her blackberry for an iPhone.
Moms are so adorable.
