Monday & A Full Schedule
From now until mid-June, I’ll be in the throes of a lot of crazy/awesome/wonderful adventures. A bachelorette party, the end of grad school, graduation, receiving my Masters, a fun weekend in NYC, my significant other arriving on my coast, the wedding of my very bestest friend, and a drive across the country with puppies and boyfriend in tow! Of course job hunting and apartment searching...

Fashionable: Pink, Navy, & Neutral
I recently noticed that the majority of my wardrobe consists of pink, navy, and neutral items. So! I thought it would be fun to put all three colors together!
The peplum look has been very popular lately, and I think a nice, neutral pencil skirt would be the best way to incorporate the style into a look. Personally, I would steer clear of a bold print/color since the ruffle already adds...

Pescatarianism
Pescatarian (n) : One whose diet includes fish but no [land] meat.
I used to really love steak. Now? Not so much. A couple or so years ago, my stomach and beef began to disagree with each other. So, I started substituting ground beef with ground turkey/chicken and that seemed to help, but if I ate too much meat I would feel gross… I’d constantly feel sick and the meat would leave this...

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Penny!
Two years ago, Penelope became a part of my life. A very important part of my life. It’s funny, because I always remember so clearly the first time I saw her. Usually, when I see a puppy, I do a little ‘aww, I want one’, but manage to walk away. It was different with Penny. I saw her, she looked at my with her doe-like eyes and I knew immediately that she was mine. She’s...

Monday & 27
Wow! 27!
I’m very excited for my twenty-seventh year. It’ll be an adventurous one, for certain: receiving my Masters in May, joining my best friend as she gets married in June, and trekking across the U.S. to move to Los Angeles with my darling pups. I don’t remember when a year has had such a positive outlook! I’m so excited to begin my next step in life and happy that...

Weekly Adorations: 2.17.2012
It’s BIRTHDAY WEEKEND! I will be 27 on Sunday! I’m looking forward to pretty strawberry cupcakes and lobster pie, with a viewing of Singin’ in the Rain on the side. Perhaps I will dress up Penny & Harvey in cute outfits. I hope everyone else has a magnificent weekend (long for some!).
- Mini monogram cake.
- It would be fun to create a map banner of places I’ve...

Four-Legged Replicas
I was recently discussing how dogs tend to take on personality traits of their owners, and I came to the conclusion that Penny and Harvey are definitely my little pups.
Penny: Expresses only child syndrome, must always get her way, slightly bratty, loyal, smart, very expressionistic, full of character, sweet, protective, obsessive with bags, and loves to watch movies.
Harvey: Frequent blonde...

He Loves and She Loves
First, it’s necessary to watch some Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn goodness. Adorable, right? Right.
I thought I’d share some non-cliche ideas for having a love filled day with your special someone. I already posted some yummy delicious food ideas. Create a little package and fill it with treats, decorate a pencil to look like an arrow and send a love letter. If your loved one is far...

Love & Food
There are many simple and inexpensive ways to show your love for that someone special to you. One fantastic way? Food. Instead of buying a cliche chocolate heart box, make something that will make their hearts (and stomachs) happy.

Weekly Adorations: 2.10.2012
Happy Friday, friends! I hope everyone has had a lovely week so far. I’ve been up to my neck in schoolwork, but alas, it’s the last semester! The last semester is always the worst it seems.
PS. Isn’t the print above absolutely adorable?! It’s by artist Emma Block. Pink cakes, parisian, and a dachshund?! Pretty perfect if you ask me!
- Be happy, make others happy.

Dressing for Valentine's
I thought, since Valentine’s Day is next week, it’d be fun to do a couple of outfits revolving around love and hearts, and not an obnoxious shade of pinkish-red.
This would be a nice, casual day time outfit to wear at work or running errands. I saw the sweater while browsing Pinterest and I immediately fell in love with it. The flats (from Anthropologie) have little Eiffel Towers on...

Monday & It's OK!
Happy Monday! The Super Bowl was yesterday, and sadly the Patriots did not win. But, alas! I shall not be a poor sport. They are still a brilliant team, and I shall love them forever.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Greetings, February!
It’s February 1st, which means it’s almost my birthday (the 19th). I’ll be 27 this year (yikes)! I’m mostly excited because when February rolls around, it means spring isn’t too far around the corner. Ah, warmer weather!
I’ve made a small list of birthday wishes:
Calligraphy Monogram Stamp (a ‘K’) | Blossom iPhone Case (pink or white) | Delfonics...

Ready For Spring
I’m not sure about you all, but I’m definitely ready for my spring wardrobe. Brighter colors, less layers, more skirts/dresses. The bright plaid shirt and bucket bag lend for some color, while the thicker/longer skirt and tights allow for warmth.

Monday & The East Coast
Happy Monday, Readers! As I mentioned last week, I am back in chilly Massachusetts. I miss sunny California quite a bit, but I shall make my return in four months, and then I’ll be happily living there! I’m sure until then, time will progress speedily. For now, I hold all the warm thoughts that Southern California filled me with for the wonderful month I was there.
It was decided...
I'll Be Back!
Sorry lovely readers, it’s been a busy week and I’ve grudgingly returned to the cold east coast. I’m in the process of organizing my life from being absent for a whole month, so I shall return to regular posting next Monday. Have a lovely weekend.

Happy Friday, friends! It’s my last weekend in sunny Los Angeles/Santa Monica so I must make the best of it before returning to frigid temperatures and snow in chilly New England. I shall be happy to see my darling pups, but I’ll miss it here dearly for the next four months until I move back in June. I also begin my final semester of grad school next Monday! I can’t believe...

Miscellaneous Adventures
Greetings! Please forgive me for my lack of postings this past week, I’ve been enjoying a few adventures and hadn’t time to write a proper post. Last weekend was spent in San Diego - lots of sight seeing, family visiting, and fun-having.
First, Aubrey, Elly, and myself ventured to Balboa Park, where Aubrey almost got eaten by a shark and Elly noticed that the shark teeth were bigger...

Elly the Elephant
I would like to introduce you all to Elly, a pet mini-elephant! Elly was found at the San Diego Zoo last year. She had been hanging out in sunny California since then, but upon my return in December, it was decided that she would be a fun travel/adventure companion. Now she happily joins in on all the fun to be had!

Stuffed Peppers
I decided to make meat-free stuffed peppers the other day, and I was very happy with how delicious they tasted.
Ingredients:
1 can of pinto beans, 2 whole peppers (color of choosing), small white onion, white or brown rice (1/2 cup uncooked), fresh cilantro, fresh parsley, tomato sauce, and salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Cook rice (about 30 minutes). While rice is cooking, cut top of...

Farmers Market
Being in Sunny LA, I have the wonderful advantage of Farmers Markets* being open year-round. I’m certainly not going to complain about the plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables available to me. When carousing and weaving your way around the various stands, you want to be comfortable. I like to dress comfy up, so I’d add a pink belt, cute necklace, and pretty shades to my outfit....

Monday, The Getty, & Yummy Food
Happy Monday, friends! This past weekend was full of an adventure to The Getty Villa and some delicious food (I love adventure and food, so it was a very successful weekend).
This is a view of the Outer Peristyle (formal gardens). It’s a very peaceful and serene place, with large outdoor hallways on the sides, a plethora of plant life, palm trees, and pretty hedges lining the walkways.

Greetings, 2012!
2012 is going to be one glorious hell of a year. I have a small handful of fantastic life events to look forward to: I’ll be graduating and receiving my Masters in May. My best friend is getting married in June! And I shall once again be trekking across the U.S. and moving back to Los Angeles.
I haven’t made any New Year’s resolutions, I think the idea of them is silly. If...

Equestrian Style
I have a similar plaid blazer I found at H&M recently, and whenever I wear it with pants and boots I feel very much like I’m about to wander across the English country side atop a pretty thoroughbred. Alright, I watch too many movies, and occasionally my imagination gets the best of me. I do like this outfit though, plus, as I prefer to wear skirts or dresses, if I’m going to be...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
A most happy and merry Christmas to you all! I hope everyone has the most delightful day filled with lots of presents, cookies, family, friends, puppies, and loved ones. I shall be waking up to play with my adorable puppies in the morning, to visiting a handful of family members, then off to Los Angeles for a whole month! I am highly impatient and excited and just really really happy about my...

Blue & Camel
I really love blues and camels, especially together. Plus these two compliment my overly pale Irish skin, blue eyes, and reddish/blonde hair. This is a very Kelly outfit. I want to wear it now, but have you any idea how difficult it is to find a skirt like this? It’s actually quite annoying. If I do come across one, it’s ridiculously expensive. I also like these heels, a tad too...

Monday & Exploration
Happy Monday! I’m feeling ridiculously giddy today because my school semester is finally over and this time next week I shall be in sunny Los Angeles! I had a nice relaxing weekend filled with some of my favorite things: parents, puppies, Emily, tea, yummy food, and presents. It was nice for that since I’ll be in California for a whole month.
Emily and I went on a date to...

Monday & Papers
Ah, last week of the semester, you have arrived at last. Only 4 more days of late nights, repetitive film viewings, theory re-readings, and paper typing/editing/fixing/retyping.
For now, let’s enjoy the stellar-ness of Alfred Hitchcock.

Pink vs. Blue Jeans
I decided to do this outfit post because of a recent conversation with my mom. As she was teasing me for only owning two pairs of jeans (I’m a skirt/dress girl), I hurried to say I had three, and reminded her of the pink ones I own. Apparently, they don’t count. Jeans constitute as blue denim. Alas, I disagree. My pink ones suffice gloriously and I much prefer wearing them over the...

Weekly Adorations: 12.2.11
Well, happy December! I’m so excited for this weekend (not really)! Two weeks left of the semester = no time for fun. Other than my normal weekend tea visit with Emily, I’ll be closing myself up in my house working studiously away on paper writings and readings. One paper is about Marshall McLuhan, Videodrome, and Cronenberg and the other is on Vertigo and a subject I haven’t...

Warby Parker
After hearing about Warby Parker for some time now, I finally decided to give it a try and ordered my next pair of glasses from them! I have to tell you, the process is amazing and simple (and extra awesome). First, you get to pick 5 pairs to try on at home (delivered to you for free!). I actually put my contacts in so I could wear the glasses all day. I picked the Thompson in Whiskey Tortoise....

Black, Red, Leopard, Stripes, & Pearls
I really love leopard print and stripes together. The only leopard print item I own is a skinny belt (shameful). I shall have to put this blouse or a similar one on my “Closet Necessities” list (yes, this list is real). Perhaps the striped jacket, too.
It’s better (in my own opinion) to have basic items that are of greater quality, than a random stash of less expensive ones....

Monday & Fog
It was nice to wake up to this fog on Sunday morning. I’m not really sure what it is about fog that fascinates me so much. It’s mysterious, calm, surreal, foreboding, peaceful… I find it most captivating in wooden areas, or fields that go on forever.

Dapper Youngin'
Most days I say: “I don’t want to have children” or, “I’m open to having them when the time is right”. Then I see photos like this, one dapper little dude, and I now say: “I definitely need to have a son because I need to dress him up exactly like this”. Monday & Smoothies
I’ve decided that all my mornings need to begin with these tasty smoothies. Full of healthy things your body needs, while tasting pretty delicious at the same time (the photo of mine above looks pretty disgusting, but it’s not!).
The basics of a Green Smoothie is:
50% greens (spinach, kale, etc.)
50% fruit of choice
1 - 2 bananas or avocado (for creaminess)
water

This is my “if I must do schoolwork, I’m going to look smart, studious & pretty while doing it” outfit. It’s also a nice work outfit. Actually, an every day outfit. I’d wear this while running errands, too, or to a nice lunch with friends. You could easily swap out the skirt/tights for a pair of skinny jeans or black cords.
I have a mega crush on this Zara tote...
